Stay warm with a space heater

If you have a certain room in your home that feels chilly, consider purchasing an electric space heater. They provide quick, auxiliary heat to a single space and can be a more economical solution than cranking up the thermostat.

Space heaters are size rated for the room you want to heat. Typically, the higher the wattage, the more heat it can produce and the larger the room it can heat. For safety, look for units that are thermostat controlled and have tip-over and overheat automatic shut off.

The most common type of space heater is a convection heater which uses electric or ceramic heating elements to warm the air and can include a fan to distribute the warmed air.

Infrared heaters emit electromagnetic waves to heat objects and people nearby. They use the same principal of how our sun heats the earth. If you are nearby, you’ll feel instant warmth. These are the best heaters for spot heating and are available with or without a fan.

Whichever type of space heater you choose, it’s important to read all manufacturer safety instructions included with the unit.
