A crucial step in kitchen, bath and laundry room renovations is installing cement backer board under flooring and on walls in these high moisture areas. Cement backer board does not rot, warp, grow mould, or deteriorate when in contact with water. It is stronger and heavier than drywall and is mainly used as a substrate for tiling.

Because of its strength, it is also ideal to use as a backer for stone veneer wall treatments. Cement backer board installs differently than drywall so it’s important to follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
